Practice Drum Sets Make Great Gifts For Christmas

Written by DrumSetDude

Every drummer knows how hard it is to find the space and acoustic environment to bang on their skins. You either have to lock yourself in the basement or haul your butt to the nearest warehouse to really let go and make some serious noise. Otherwise, you risk a visit from your local law enforcement or disgruntled neighbor.

Practice Drum Sets Are A Lifesaver

Parents also know how quickly listening to their kids practice on their kits can go right through them. You want to be supportive but you’ve got to be able to hear yourself think.

That’s why practice drum sets can be such a lifesaver. They give drummers a way to work on their techniques in between full-on kit banging sessions. Parents can feel good their kids are learning their chops upstairs while dinner is cooking.

They Make Great Gifts For Christmas

Practice drum sets are a perfect example of something a drummer is least likely to buy for themselves. That’s why they make great gifts for Christmas. You can go as basic as a pad and sticks or get a full electronic drum set. The pad and sticks will run you under $100.00 with the electronic drum set can go well into the hundreds depending on your needs.

One of the coolest things I’ve seen musician friends do at Christmas is each buy one item from a full electronic drum set for their buddy who drums. That way, he or she gets a good head start on a full set without anybody having to foot the whole note themselves.

So, if you know somebody who could really use another place to practice their chops consider getting them practice drum sets this Christmas.

All my life I’ve struggled with how to play my drums without making everyone mad at me. I am self-taught and started playing at age 11. I have lived in a variety of places and either had a set that I played sparingly, no set at all, a set of electronic drums, or a practice pad. Finally, I’ve given it up at age 50.

    Hi Rhea,

    Thank you for stopping by.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve given up.

I’m closing in on the big 5-0 myself and I’m going to be taking up the piano again because I need to be getting more music into my life.

It’s been years since I’ve done anything remotely musical and I’ve decided enough is enough.

Music means to much to me to quit.

    Jeff
