Why I Love My New iPod Nano
Written by DrumSetDudeThat’s right. As many times as I’ve heard people droning on about why they love their iPods I’ve always taken a very utilitarian approach to the idea. I thought what’s so great about a device that lets you take your music with you? I mean that’s all it is, right? Having lived through headset AM radios(yes, I’m that old)and walkmans, I thought what’s the big deal.
As you probably have already guessed, I had some education ahead of me.
It Took A Little Kindness To Convince Me
Recently, I was given the opportunity to review a product for placing bird songs and pictures on an iPod for my birding blog. Because the creator was so generous in providing me the software to review I decided it was time to get off the fence.
Where did I head? Over to eBay of course. Because I had been a Powerseller for a couple of years with them, I knew what to look for and what to avoid. After some research I located the perfect seller for me. They had the stats I look for so I watched a few auctions and made my purchase.
Everything Went Great
The seller, shipfastelectronics, was the consummate professional buyers dream of. Great prices, high quality, great communication, fast shipping, great packing and a wonderful product to boot. There was one thing I was NOT prepared for when my package arrived on Thursday…
I would not be able to put it down once I started using it.
I’ve had a bunch of stuff loaded on my Mac in iTunes for a few years now but I’m not the kind that can concentrate on technical stuff while music is playing so it all saw sporadic use at best. Once I got all this stuff loaded on my iPod, I couldn’t help listening for 5 hours straight to all the stuff I’ve loved throughout the years.
An iPod Is An Incredibly Liberating Thing
This is not just another music player you have to fiddle with. It’s an incredibly well designed and self-updating media system. I got the smaller capacity 8 Gig iPod Nano model and that’s still a lot of stuff. You add stuff to your iTunes library, plug in the iPod and BOOM it updates it. Very cool indeed. It will even grab covert art and track listings if you need them. You can store pictures, music, videos, contacts, podcasts and text. You can even get games for it if you’re so inclined.
My iPod Nano And My Musical Goal
Since the beginning of this blog, I’ve written about various ways to do one thing: get music back into your life. I have to say after all the procrastination on my part, I have no idea how I ever functioned without an iPod.
My simple advice to you is that just get yourself one of these things and never be without your favorite music again. Yes, we carry them in our store but it’s not important to me where you get one. Just that you get one.
